Our kaiako (teachers) in the Tiaki and Mana Rooms at BestStart Greenmeadows have been looking at the meaning of ‘manaakitanga’ and how our tamariki (children) show this within their play.

Manaakitanga is hospitality, kindness, generosity, support - the process of showing respect, generosity and care for others.

Manaakitanga is such a beautiful way of acknowledging others! Our two older rooms have been thoroughly enjoying looking after our peers, showing respect for one another, supporting each other in our play, and being kind and generous to others as we learn.

‘Use your smile to change the world; don’t let the world change your smile’ – smiles all round from BestStart Greenmeadows.
