It’s great that we are able to attend our local school - Silverstream gym skills again. The children enjoyed walking in their local community and there was a lot of excitement to say the least. Silverstream gym skills run throughout the term, allowing the children time to learn new skills, practice and become confident at the skills at hand.

When we arrived at Silverstream, Sue Miller our gym teacher started with a warm up and then we were right into it. Skills such as balancing, hand eye coordination, crossing the middle line and upper body strength were this week’s focus. The children all listened well and gave each and every activity an awesome go.

There was a lot of smiles on the children’s faces and they were all tired from their time at gym and the walk there and back.

This is an awesome learning experience for our children as they get to go out in their community and learn about their wider world. They also are learning and building on important skills which will carry them in life such as coordination, perseverance, taking turns and sharing. Everyone enjoyed their time and we look forward to next Thursday’s gym session.

Thanks so much to Anna - Cooper's Mum who joined us to make this experience possible. I know she enjoyed it as much as all our amazing tamariki.

Check out our awesome photos of our tamariki in action!
