Smelling the roses
On Friday last week we had lots of fun exploring some beautiful putiputi (flowers) one of our parents sent in for us to enjoy. As a classroom we put the putiputis in bubbly water that we had created together. The tamariki really appreciate when our whanau contribute resources and new ideas to our preschool! The tamariki loved watching them float and spent a long time dunking them into the water. Many of the children enjoyed feeling the different textures, colours, shapes, and types of putiputi. The putiputi’s also made fabulous decorations for our grasses which are still a little brown but are growing back, which we are very excited about! This learning experience was a great way to develop social skills with one another while working as a team, we were able to fostering the positive learning dispositions of taking an interest and getting involved.
