Special Moments and Big Smiles: Our May Highlights

May was a wonderful month at our preschool, filled with meaningful celebrations and learning experiences for our tamariki.

On Mother's Day, we welcomed mothers and special caregivers to join us for a memorable celebration.

Our tamariki proudly sang a Mother's Day song and enjoyed spending quality time with their loved ones through special activities. Together, they decorated cookies and participated in a fun nail polish activity, creating joyful moments and strengthening family connections. The children also prepared handmade cards and special gifts to show their love and appreciation for their mums.

It was heartwarming to see the excitement and pride on their faces as they celebrated the important people in their lives. On May 15, we participated in Pink Shirt Day, promoting kindness, friendship, and inclusion. Children and teachers wore pink and engaged in activities and discussions about respect, empathy, and caring for others. This helped reinforce the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and included.

During the last week of May, we celebrated King's Birthday with a variety of exciting activities. The tamariki enjoyed cookie making, creating paper plate crowns, participating in a treasure hunt, and taking part in a royal parade. These fun experiences encouraged creativity, teamwork, and imaginative play while helping children learn about this special national celebration.

Another highlight of the month was our excursion to Everglade Primary School as part of our transition-to-school programme. The children explored classrooms, interacted with teachers and students, and became familiar with the school environment, helping to build their confidence and excitement for their future school journey.

We are proud of the enthusiasm and participation shown by our tamariki throughout these special events and learning experiences.
