Summer is at its peak and water play is becoming the most popular form of play to cool off our bodies and souls. Splash splash splash! Our preschool tamariki are enjoying the cool water experiences facilitated by their teachers. Our favorite Octopus water sprinkler sprays water with its arms on our beautiful children and the caterpillar water toy gets squashed by our preschoolers. The water slide is so thrilling that our children just love it.

They are developing their gross motor skills, social competency and communication skills while they jump and slide wading through the water toys, taking turns and encouraging each other. They love getting soaked in water and also splashing water on their friends.

Water play is a great way to calm, soothe and relax children. This form of play leads to our children’s emotional growth. They are learning about some water properties like measurements, water pressure, volume  and it’s indeed a beautiful sensory experience that they enjoy.

While our clever tamariki are learning through play, they are also refining their early literacy skills in creative ways by practicing letters, numbers, counting and literacy of concepts around their interest - this helps them with transitioning into school. Our strong whanau engagement and partnership makes our learning journey successful!
