Splish Splash Splosh
Summertime at Coast Boulevard is all about water play! We enjoy connecting with the water across all age groups and it is the highlight of the day for many of our children. With our older children we are often providing a sprinkler, slip ‘n’ slide or even a good old fashioned hose on the playground slide! Our tamariki know to bring their togs each day and are bursting at the seams to get undressed and put them on once their family have dropped them off.
Our babies also love to explore the water, they enjoy tipping the water all over their front and feeling the sensations of their clothes beginning to dampen and their bodies cooling down, they also enjoy pouring, transferring and collecting water in containers. Here are some pictures of them exploring our sea creatures in the water, gliding their sharks and whales through the cool blue water and making pretend roaring noises.
Water provides many wonderful learning opportunities such as early mathematics as children explore size, quantity and volume as they transport and pour between their different containers and objects. It’s also just a whole lot of fun and great way to cool off on a hot summers day!
