Today at BestStart Bader our tamariki were taken on a journey of discovery with some spontaneous outside body painting and water play!

Spontaneous play promotes risk-taking and helps tamariki develop mental flexibility and executive function.  As tamariki enjoyed body painting, they were able to explore and experiment using their feet or hands to mix different colors. Nga tamariki were also able to explore their senses by adding water to the mix. This encouraged a whole new element of play and learning for our tamariki. Sensory activities, like this, support our tamariki with color recognition, social interaction and language development, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving and cognitive growth. There are endless learning opportunities for our tamariki, and I think it is safe to say, this is one they thoroughly enjoyed!
