Sport Taranaki visit our centre
On Thursday we had Coach Mike from Sport Taranaki visit Stratford BestStart to play ball games with the children. The children light up when they see Coach Mike coming in with his big bag of sports equipment.
Coach Mike always makes the games he plays fun for the children and through playing these games, the children learn coordination skills, balance, patience, teamwork and so much more. We love visits from Coach Mike and the children are always excited to see what game he is going to start next.
During his latest visit he spent time playing tug of war, driving cars with the hula hoops and teaching the children how to throw a ball.
We value our time with Coach Mike as the children learn many skills with him and he makes learning fun for us all.
The benefit of developing coordination skills is the ability to participate more easily in academic activities. Balance benefits children preparing for school mat times, patience benefits children the appreciate their experiences, and teamwork benefits children by teaching communication and social skill.
