Bright blooms, big smiles, and even a few happy tears! Our Pikopiko tamariki spread Mother’s Day aroha with flower-gifting adventures around the community — and the joy they shared was just as beautiful as the bouquets! 💐✨
This week, our Pikopiko Room tamariki had a beautiful time exploring and connecting with our local community!
On Tuesday, we went on a hīkoi to New World where the tamariki carefully chose some lovely flowers. It was a fun adventure, full of curiosity and teamwork as they helped each other pick out the brightest and most colourful blooms. The children were excited and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.
Then today, another group of our pēpi took those flowers and shared them with local women in honour of Mother’s Day. They visited nearby places and handed out the flowers to mums, kaumātua, volunteers, and even the staff at the local petrol station.
The reactions were heartwarming — big smiles, kind words, and even a few happy tears. It was a truly special way to spread aroha and brighten someone’s day. The joy was absolutely contagious.
Our tamariki were so proud of themselves and had such a wonderful time that they didn’t want to come back to the centre! It was a beautiful reminder of how simple acts of kindness can create lasting memories — not just for those who receive them, but for those who give as well.
Ka mau te wehi, tamariki mā!
