As spring has begun this month, so has the warmer weather. Everything has begun to grow again after our cold winter. Our nature garden and vegetable garden is in full growth mode and our beautiful harakeke is beginning to flower. The tamariki (children) and kaiako (teachers) are taking the time to enjoy the warm weather, water play and the sun shine.

We would love to grow our gardens more by adding any new seedlings, vegetables and herbs. As we replenish the garden we are replenishing our selves and our bodies. This is a great time of year to take the extra vitamins, soak up the vitiman D and sit back and watch the tamariki grow.

The tamariki have been learning alongside greening Taupo in the garden and have made our garden look amazing. They have been learning to care, nurture and respect our garden so it can give back to us over the summer months with fresh kai.

Gardening creates so many learning opportunities for the tamariki and just getting out into nature, getting our hands dirty and watching it grow is great for the soul.
