Squish squash
Our babies at BestStart Harrison Street love exploring messy play activities, including exploring clay mixed with glitter. Their eyes light up as they squish and squash the clay between their fingers. Messy play helps the children to express themselves through a different media.
Our centre vision is Growing a Community and a big part of that is relationships. The experiences the Kaiako provide for the tamariki such as exploring clay provide perfect opportunities to build relationships with the children and for the children with each other. It is a great sensory experience perfect for our under 2’s development, working with their hands to build their finger muscles for later writing skills. And it is a lot of fun too!!
