Bandages, helmets, and heartbeats—oh my! Our tamariki got a behind-the-scenes look at the amazing work St John does to keep us safe. With stories, dress-ups, and real equipment to try, it was a morning full of learning and excitement! 🚑

St John came in this morning to talk with our Pukeko/preschool (2–5 y/o) tamariki/children all about what they do! We learnt so much about ambulances/waka manaaki and how they’re here to keep us safe.

We got to use some of the equipment they use and see how they work—such as stethoscopes, finger scanners, oxygen masks, and inhalers. Some of us had our heart rates checked, as well as our stomachs to see how hungry we were!

We then got to see what equipment and gear they wear and why—everything from gloves to helmets.

We all got to have a turn learning how to wrap our bodies in bandages if we have hurt ourselves!

We finished off by reading a storybook/pukapuka. We had so much fun this morning with St John! 🚑
