Our infant environment has been intentionally set up to reflect a Curriculum of Care, where nurturing relationships, responsive caregiving and thoughtful environments are recognised as the foundation for learning.
Inspired by Te Whāriki and the principle of Kōwhiti Whakapae, every interaction, routine and space is carefully considered to uphold the mana of each pēpi and their whānau. We believe that each child's learning starts with heart, so much so that we have made it the foundation of our infant curriculum delivery.
Natural textures, soft lighting, open-ended resources and peaceful spaces create a sense of calm, inviting infants to explore at their own pace while feeling safe and secure. Care moments such as feeding, nappy changing, settling to sleep and comforting are viewed as rich opportunities to build trust, strengthen attachment and support learning through genuine connection.
We understand that infants learn best through responsive relationships. By slowing down, following each child's cues and honouring their individual rhythms, we create a strong sense of wellbeing (Mana Atua) and belonging (Mana Whenua). These secure foundations empower children to communicate with confidence (Mana Reo), explore with curiosity (Mana Aotūroa) and know that their unique contribution is valued (Mana Tangata).
