Staying Connected Over Lockdown

Our online learning throughout the level 4 lockdown has brought us closer than ever! Our amazing teaching team continued to extend on our daily learning programme from home.

‘The wonder of our living world’ evolved as bug hunts in our backyards and on our walks brought new discoveries of different types of insects.  ‘Exploring Recyclables’ was a hit as teachers shared multiple ways to repurpose recyclables from home for arts and crafts and imaginative play.

There was a wide range of different experiences and ways to connect online via Zoom sessions and Storypark. From messy play, literacy, numeracy, science and more.  Baking was another way we came together sharing recipes from centre to home. Our centre cook was sharing videos baking with her children. Manaakitanga is an integral value within our centre. Lockdown showed our philosophy in action as we were extending aroha, encouraging one another and securing the strength of relationships with our whanau and community.
