Stinky business

It has been stinky business in Beststart Waihi East lately. Following our vision for sustainable learning for life, one of our Kaiako brought a bag of chicken poo and a bucket of cow poo in so our tamariki could compost the garden. What great learning was taking place: we learned about the benefits of preparing the soil, the benefits of having worms in the soil, why cow poo is green and why to let the ground sit for a while when everything is mixed. 

Now onto the next face, of planting our vegies!
