Stormy the Lamb
Jodie, one of our kaiako brought in her lamb, Stormy for the day. The children loved watching Stormy as she walked around, slept and bleated in her crate. The children got an opportunity to watch Stormy drink her bottle of milk and pat her as she moved around the centre.
Caring for animals is very beneficial for children. When children observe, interact and care for an animal it provides valuable learning for empathy, caring for the natural world, relationships as well as teaching children responsibility.
We are fortunate living in Alexandra, surrounded by farms and orchards where our tamariki can experience many animal visits into the centre.
