Strong Relationships Support Learning

At Montessori Bethlehem we love to support working parents in any way we can to make their lives easier.  We provide lots of photos and stories via Storypark so that while they are at work they can see all the learning opportunities their children are enjoying.  Plus, parents can comment on the stories which is great as we welcome their feedback on anything we can do to improve or to help us work together, providing consistent responses and outcomes for the children.

This is the Bradford Whanau and both mum and dad are local GP’s so we were privileged to have each of their children George, Annabel and Thomas from the age of 8 months right the way through to five years old where they will be joining several of their friends from here at Omokoroa Number One School.

Strong relationships and trust are developed when you have the opportunity of having children every day of the week and we hope that the children soon see us as their home from home – growing a strong sense of belonging to both their environment and their teachers both who remain consistent every day.

When the children truly believe that the environment belongs to them they move around the class confidently and inquisitively.  Each child learning at their own pace and with their individual interests at heart.

The Bradford family being an excellent example with George loving outdoors playing with his friends and being active, Annabel loving to use the Montessori equipment in the literacy, numeracy and art area and Thomas loving to learn about the wider community with maps of the world, geography, together with developing lots of practical life skills, chopping, dicing, grating, cleaning, sweeping and the list goes on.
