Summer Memories
Splish Splash I was taking a bath, no, wait, make that a waterslide, a DIY pool, bubbles and water fights! These are memories of the classic Kiwi Summer. At BestStart Welcome Bay we’ve had multiple water days for our school holiday programme, and that’s just in January.
We had our own slip n slide with a plunging paddling pool at the bottom, a water trough full of water and overflowing with bubbles, and a zipping fast racing slide. The children wanted the water trough in the sandpit so we made our own paddling pool, ran a hose through the pipe and turned on the over head sprinklers.
Water day is a favourite, enjoyed by young and old, and often makes a full day appearance at least once a month during summer as well as being a daily activity”
