What an awesome way to enjoy summer! Our children at BestStart Newmarket enjoyed the hot summer days with a splash day. Everyone came in their swimming togs and had fun splashing water at each other.

Playing with water helps children to develop useful social skills while playing alongside others. They gain confidence in controlling their body and learn strategies for active exploration and problem solving when conflicts arises. Along with having fun they also learned to measure and pour. They investigated about floating and sinking using a variety of materials that they found around them. It was interesting to see them counting the number of cups of water it takes to fill a bucket. It was great to see them learning a lot while having fun.

On hot days water play is such a great way to cool off but there is much more to it than fun. It provides hours of rich and valuable experiences to develop their creativity and imagination.
