Supporting exploration and development
At Best Start Whangaparaoa we love to find new ways to support tamariki exploration and development, we have recently changed the playground set up again and have noticed an increased interest in our obstacle course set ups.
Outdoor play also supports development of social skills as well as language and communication. Tamariki are learning to take turns, share and support each other on the playground and outdoor equipment. Through these changes Kaiako have enjoyed observing tuakana-teina relationships where our tamariki are interacting and supporting each other within this outdoor environment.
