I had the absolute best time visiting Whakarongo School alongside my friends from our preschool who will be starting at Whakarongo School soon.

Pou Julie is such a kind teacher, and she was excited to welcome us into her classroom. The tamariki were confident to explore the resources in the Pono classroom. I was proud to see our tamariki listening and following instructions during group time. They each had a turn to say good afternoon to Pou Julie before reading about the Greedy Cat.

Pou Julie then took us for a walk around some of the other classrooms before heading to the Junior School playground.

During our visit, we were lucky enough to see so many of our old BestStart Kelvin Grove friends and some siblings.

What an amazing opportunity to support successful transitions. I can see that our BSKG tamariki are looking forward to school just as much as Whakarongo School is looking forward to having them; how exciting!

I can't wait for next month when we are visiting another local school. We have some tamariki who are transitioning to Parklands School so that is our next port of call.

Another example of living our vision here at Kelvin Grove, "At one with child, whānau and community".
