Here at BestStart Hokowhitu we have a strong focus on supporting our pēpi in developing healthy habits that set them up for a life time of success. We strive to nurture our connection to the whenua as we learn about Pāpatūānuku, Rongomātāne and our role as kaitiakitanga of the land, all while developing knowledge and appreciation of where our kai comes from.

Our newly developed gardens here in the infants space allow kaiako to empower our pēpi in developing that knowledge. With a grand planting day to celebrate the completion of our gardens, ngā tamariki got in with tools and hands to turn the soil, plant seeds and seedlings. With some Aroha these that will grow into yummy homegrown kai we can enjoy here at the centre and share with our families as we engage in sustainable practices for a brighter future.
