It was an awesome day. We had planned a small excursion to the local library for the children who are almost ready for school. Firstly, the teaching team at Kauri Flats would like to convey our gratitude to our parent helpers and thank you all for trusting and supporting us to execute today's excursion.

Our tamariki was super excited to go for an excursion to the library and learn some fun and exciting new waiata such as:

1. A welcome song
2. Color song (with colors, and counting toll 10)
3. Animal song (Animals named in Te Reo)
4. Kina kina wheke wheke and lots of other songs as well as book-singing interactive sessions

Our Tamariki had the opportunity to engage in meaningful learning by making connections to the wider community and enjoyed participating in learning bilingual Māori and Pacifica children's waiata. The music was engaging, fun, educational, and intentionally bilingual Māori. Tamariki enjoyed the action, songs, and refreshments before we came back. The children, parents, and our entire team of preschool are very thankful to the library for advising us about this session. On the way back, we also got some printouts to colour at the centre.
