BestStart Harrison Street's children in the preschool have been enjoying their big project about 'Fish' which has been lead by Liz.  They have examined freshly caught fish, looking at the differing characteristics between the species and the smell.  They have also been enjoying the art activities associated with this projects - Rainbow Fish and story, painting cooked play dough fish, making fish for the wall display and fishing rods to catch that elusive fish.  From this project work the children are making sense of their world through inquiring, researching a topic (fish) along with exploring the natural world.  These discoveries are generating and refining their working theories about the world around them and connecting our vision of 'growing a community'.  The children have also had fun having races wearing flippers used when diving as they look at different aspects of the underwater world.
