Te Tiriti o Waitangi mai Lemon Street
Over the past two weeks leading up to Te Tiriti o Waitangi ngā tamariki mo te Rūma Rākau have read stories, "The Tree Hut Treaty" and "Williams Waitangi Day".
The stories helped kaiako me ngā tamariki mo te Rūma Rākau discuss and put together a Te Tiriti Kawenata for our Akomanga. The tamariki learned significant names of important people, places and forms of transport from a memory game we played about Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This kemu will help tamariki make connections to people, places and things making sense of their worlds by generating and refining working theories. From this kemu tamariki then coloured the different haki and learned the meanings and reasons about them. These experiences allow tamariki to learn with and alongside others.
