On 25 September 2025, our centre came together for a very special event — Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day! Across Kea Room, Uenuku Room, and Paua Room, tamariki enjoyed a beautiful spring day filled with play, kai, cuddles, and imagination.
Our youngest tamariki in the Kea Room had their very first spring picnic outdoors. After days of rain, the sunshine arrived just in time! The babies sat together with their teddy bears, enjoying fresh air, warm light, and little sandwiches. It was a gentle and joyful way to welcome spring.
In Uenuku Room, tamariki proudly brought their favourite teddy bears and cuddly friends from home. They enjoyed an outdoor picnic, shared kai with their soft toy companions, and spent the day reading, exploring, and playing together in the playground. It was a beautiful celebration of friendship and imagination. Thank you to all the whānau who helped make it extra special.
The Paua Room tamariki were busy throughout the day with exciting provocations and activities set up around their favourite cuddly toys. Their outdoor picnic was filled with laughter, delicious sandwiches, and collaborative play as they explored and learned alongside their teddies.
It was heart-warming to see tamariki in all three rooms coming together in their own ways to celebrate a shared event. Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day brought joy, connection, and a sense of community to our centre. We look forward to many more special days ahead as we continue learning, playing, and growing together.
