In September, we held our much-loved annual Teddy Bear Picnic!

It was a special day where tamariki, kaiako, and whānau came together to share kai and celebrate the fun of learning side by side.

Throughout the week, our tamariki took pride in helping with the baking. With Kendall, they whipped up a delicious Weet-Bix slice, Katie guided them in making fresh scones, and Ebs supported them in creating yummy banana muffins.

By Thursday, the table was full of homemade treats – and with even more kai generously provided by whānau and kaiako, everyone was spoiled for choice! On the big day, tamariki arrived excited to show off their favourite teddy bears, making the morning extra special. To add to the fun, we all got to wear our comfy PJs – the perfect touch for a cozy picnic atmosphere.

Our shared platter stretched across two tables and was filled with plenty of treats for everyone to enjoy together. Our annual Teddy Bear Picnic is always a highlight on the calendar! Tamariki, kaiako and whānau come together to share kai, laughter, and plenty of special moments. In the lead-up, our tamariki get hands-on with baking, learning new skills while creating yummy treats to share.

On the day, everyone arrives with their favourite teddy and enjoys a cosy morning in PJs, celebrating the joy of learning and community. It’s a beautiful way to connect with whānau, strengthen relationships, and create memories that tamariki treasure.
