The ANZAC spirit!
This month, in our Kindergarten Room we started sharing about the spirit of ANZAC. The children have been listening to the story of Anzac Ted, making anzac biscuits, and have been listening to stories about loved ones who served in the war. We have started a display unit to showcase some special pieces and historical artefacts such as diaries, letters, medals, uniforms and photos of our loved ones to help build our children’s understanding of the traditions and facts of ANZAC day. The children have learnt about the freedom we have to feel safe because of their sacrifice, and through this our children come to better understand the value and need for peace.
