After lots of rain over the holidays and New Year, it was so nice to finally enjoy some beautiful sunny weather as our tamariki returned from their break.
This week in our Hihi (under 2s) room, we brought the camping vibes to life and had so much fun together.
We set up a sun tent so the children could relax and enjoy the outdoors while staying cool in the shade. Under the tent, we also had a lemon cake picnic to celebrate our lovely teacher Jane’s birthday. The sunny weather was perfect for water play, helping everyone cool down while splashing, pouring, and exploring.
Our tamariki also enjoyed camping cart rides! They took turns riding along or helped their friends pull and push the cart. It was wonderful to see such teamwork, kindness, and encouragement as they worked together.
Bouncing giant beach balls was another big hit, it supports physical play while building coordination and confidence. To finish off our camping adventure, the children had a very special experience toasting marshmallows over a fire pit — for some, it was their first time and a very exciting moment!
At BestStart Maui, our dedicated teachers are always passionate about bringing lots of exciting experiences to our children and enjoying seeing their learning grow through fun play. If you have a little active explorer at home, come along and see what exciting adventures your child could enjoy with us.
