The growth cycle of frogs
We have been lucky enough in the Koru Room at BestStart Montessori Mosgiel to witness the growth cycle of frogs live in our classroom. A member of our class brought in two tadpoles that we have been looking after and observing as they go through metamorphosis and develop as frogs.
We have been really enjoying learning alongside the children as we researched how to look after these new additions to our learning community. Our curriculum is set up to support children’s interests and encourage children to explore, learn and take care of our environment.
Having pets and caring for animals is one of the ways in which we are able to support children in developing relationships and dispositions of kindness and empathy.
