CELEBRATION OF LEARNING

BestStart Marne St Researchers headed out to The Herb Farm to celebrate their learning from this seasons local planning around ‘The Power of Plants’. We were lucky enough to share in the knowledge of herb farm creator Lynn Kirkland as she read us one of her beautiful books we have been using to fuel our learning.

Then it was outside for a tour of the amazing gardens. The magic of childhood was kept alive as we came across each section and explored with all of our senses searching for fairies, gnomes and elves. We even got to see how the fairies make their laundry detergent simply from water and a plant called soapwart. All the fresh air and fun was a bit much for some of our little people and a snooze on the bus ride home was inevitable. I think this experience will stay with our tamariki for a long time to come and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Our celebrations of learning have become a big draw card for Marne St.

They aren’t all big trips, sometimes we celebrate with a special day associated with the learning but our tamariki really enjoy them and our parents and whanau look forward to seeing how we will celebrate next.
