The importance of getting messy

Here at BestStart Mangorei we love to have fun and get messy and painting is the perfect opportunity for this. Recently our tamariki have moved on from painting on paper to using their bodies as the canvas for their creations and what great fun they have had with this.

Ngā tamariki have been letting their creativity run wild as they get fully involved in the sensory exploration that these painting experiences provide. They foster exploration of their environment through every sense, sight, touch, and taste learning through involvement.

Through painting our children discover early concepts of mark making which are fundamental concepts in learning to write and draw as they approach later formal learning.
