Every day, our teachers thoughtfully create experiences that encourage children to wonder, investigate, problem-solve and discover.
These experiences are known as provocations - carefully planned invitations that inspire children to think deeply, ask questions and explore at their own pace.
Behind every provocation is intentional teaching. This means our teachers carefully observe children's interests, strengths, and developing skills, then purposefully plan experiences that extend their learning in meaningful ways. Through thoughtful conversations, open-ended questions, and responsive teaching, we support children to become confident, capable learners.
One of our centre priorities is "Taking Part in Caring for This Place." This priority is woven throughout our daily programme and is reflected in many of the provocations we create. Whether children are tending to our gardens, caring for living things, helping to keep our learning spaces beautiful, exploring nature, or using recycled and natural materials in their play, they are developing a sense of responsibility, belonging, and respect for the world around them.
These experiences help children understand that caring for our environment also means caring for one another and our community. As they work together, share ideas, and contribute to the life of our centre, they begin to see that even small actions can make a big difference.
Our provocations often invite children to think about questions - There are no right or wrong answers. Instead, children are encouraged to explore, test their ideas, and learn through hands-on experiences. Alongside them, our teachers intentionally extend conversations, introduce new concepts and vocabulary, and celebrate each child's unique way of thinking.
These meaningful learning moments help children develop confidence, resilience, creativity, communication skills, and a growing understanding of their role as active contributors to their world. Through intentional teaching, meaningful provocations, and our shared commitment to Taking Part in Caring for This Place, we are nurturing curious learners who are developing not only knowledge and skills, but also a deep sense of care, responsibility, and belonging.
