Whanau/Family

We provide a home away from home here at BestStart Papanui and through open communication, aroha and by gathering whānau aspirations we are able to work in partnerships with our whānau to provide the best learning spaces for our tamariki mā.

Taiao/Environments

We provide a centre that values both inside and outside environments; viewing them as important teachers in our learning. We embrace the concept of kaitiakitanga as we promote being guardians of our spaces; role modelling respect and care for all areas of our environment. We strive to ensure thoughtful, meaningful and fun environments are available for our tamariki ma that encourage curiosity, imagination and extend interests.

Ako/Learning

As a diverse centre we pride ourselves on meeting the needs of each and every individual mokopuna that comes through our doors. We value a learning through play approach that is child led and flexible; ensuring autonomy of play for our tamariki ma. From pepe to older tamariki we value our care routines as a big part of a child’s learning journey and ensure that our programme provides nurturing moments and plenty of aroha.
