During the month of Poutū-te rangi (March) we celebrated with our Chinese community with a cultural display. It was great to be able to bring in our community to support our tamariki's learning through other cultures. They got to experience different cultural dance as well as kai.

As the weather has still been warm, we have been doing lots of water play, messy play and science. Through this play we are working on our mana reo (communication), this is through communicating with each other, verbal and non-verbal. It helps to create and maintain relationships. Mana aotūroa (exploration), this is where we get to play, imagine, invent and experiment. Where we get to develop a range of strategies with our peers through play. Mana tangata (contribution), We get to learn about sharing, taking turns and where we are encouraged to learn with and alongside others. And mana whenua, where we know we have a place within our centre, community and home and are learning the limits of acceptable behaviour through different types of play.

Next will be Easter where we get to explore what customs are important to our whānau. Where we get to explore egg hunts, messy play and friendships.
