The Nutty Professors
Today at BestStart Foxton Beach Kindy we did colour-mixing with real science equipment such as beakers and pipets. This was both a science lesson and maths lesson for the children as we talked about measuring liquids "how many millimetres fill the beaker?" They practiced number recognition too.
The colour mixing was very scientific, they watched as the colours went in and slowly moved down the tubes, changing the colours. It was great for discussions around what happened when colours were mixed. We saw some interesting results.
Creating a space where the children can explore and try things with no set ideas or limits could create a love of science so strong we could spark a future of scientific discoveries.
