The month of February 2022 we celebrated our annual Chinese New Year event here at BestStart Dannemora. This year we said goodbye to the Ox as we enter the Year of the Tiger, we celebrated with variety of different experiences from getting creative and creating our Tiger faces, making dumplings with our peers and Kaiako (teachers) and finishing off our celebrations with a fun little performance put on by our Morepork (Preschool) and Tui (Kindy) rooms.

We held a cultural dress up day and started off our event with the pre-schoolers welcoming their friends with the cool drum beats and performing a traditional Lion Dance, we finished off with few of our favourite Chinese songs which are “Two Little Tigers” and “Chinese New Year” songs. What a lovely celebration we all had welcoming the Chinese New Year.
