This month has been amazing – not only do we have a waiting list for the Preschool room, but all the children we have had start with us - have settled in amazingly!

This month’s learning interests that are emerging are revolving around group play through construction, tuakana teina relationships and exploring responsibility! We are noticing a shift in our tamariki and that can be seen through the older children’s interactions with the younger children. We often see them taking care of the younger ones, by playing with them kindly, finding their drinking bottles, or by supporting them with hand washing. It is wonderful to see this shining through! Through this type of play and contribution we are noticing increasing confidence for all our tamariki.

Alongside this, we have also begun finding books/resources/songs that explore our tamariki culture that the whanau read at home!  So far we have been provided with a book and a song that explores Native American art, a son in the Samoan language, as well as a child's book from Slovenia!  Our whanau engagement with this journey so far has been amazing!

Well done Preschool!
