Over the month of July in the Toddler Room at BestStart Tawa we have enjoyed taking the opportunities on the wet and cold days to set up a number of different obstacle courses for the tamariki to participate in. This has allowed them to practice using the larger muscles in their bodies, while we have been stuck inside. This has involved plenty of turn-taking and sharing with all tamariki in the classroom. It has also allowed all tamariki to engage all together as one, and showing their support by chanting as each child has their turn!!

The toddlers have also been doing their part for the community on our weekly excursion around our local area. The aim of our walk was to collect lots of natural resources that we could bring back to our classroom and explore different ways we could use them within our play. While out on our walk we noticed a lot of rubbish and since we had enough bags we thought we could help by doing our bit, and picking up the rubbish we walked pass.
