TopKids Virginia's Toddler Parent Evening
At TopKids Virginia we held a parent evening where we got the opportunity to give information to the new parents/whanau of our toddler group about the play and learning that happens here.
We highlighted our Early Childhood curriculum, what our curriculum comprises of and how we use it at the centre. We also spoke about how we include parents / whanau into our centre programmes and work along with parents/whanau and the community for better learning outcomes for all our tamariki (children).
It was a great information evening - parents showed interest in learning more about our practices, what happens here, how we develop children's areas of interest, how the teaching team encourage parents contributions into the programme planning for their children and how the teachers strive to provide better learning outcomes for the children.
It was a great success and we will continue to hold such evenings for parents on a regular basis for all the rooms in the centre. We will present the programmes we plan based on the children's learning interests, how we extend the children's learning and develop their learning dispositions for future learning, and how we develop 'Be School Ready' skills in the children right from the early stages and prepare them to enter primary school with confidence and courage.
