At BestStart Bader Street, we're committed to providing enriching experiences that expand young minds. As part of our localized curriculum, we started by investigating more into our community values, people, places, and culture.

We enlisted the help of one of our whānau, a community leader within the Bader and Glenview area and they pinpointed us to one of our local landmarks. We were so excited to introduce our little explorers to the wonders of our community by visiting this local landmark, Mangakōtukutuku Stream! Exploring our neighborhood's treasures offers invaluable learning opportunities.

Our local excursion to Mangakōtukutuku Stream offered learning experiences that ignited curiosity and sparked imagination. During our visit, nga tamariki engaged all their senses as they observed, touched, listened, and even tasted the local culture and history. Guided by a dedicated staff from Hamilton City Council Environmental Conservation Group, we discovered fascinating stories, learned about the environment, and developed a deeper connection to our Mangakōtukutuku Stream surroundings.

This excursion was more than just a field trip; it was a transformative adventure that fostered a sense of belonging and pride in our community. By exploring the natural environment along Mangakōtukutuku Stream, nga tamariki gained a deeper understanding of their heritage and the world around them.

Through hands-on exploration and guided activities, we ensured that the visit was not only educational but also fun and memorable. This learning experience laid the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and an appreciation for the beauty of our local area.
