Our Mako Room tamariki had a trip to the Upper Riccarton Library this morning. It was raining a bit when we left preschool, but we walked to the bus stop and got on a number 5 green bus. We noticed the wipers on the bus went *swish swish swish*, the doors on the bus went *open and shut*, the Mako on the bus went "chat chat chat", teachers on the bus said "Please sit down", all the way to the library!

We joined in the Matariki story time with Rachel the Librarian. We listened to some stories about kai Moana and learnt some new songs about Matariki stars in te reo Māori. At the end of the session, Rachel gave us a very special stamp on our hand, Matariki stickers, and colouring pictures. Then we went to the cafe to have some morning tea.

We looked at books in the children’s corner and chose some books to borrow. We said goodbye to the library and walked to the bus stop to catch another bus back to preschool. Thankfully the rain stopped! It was such a wonderful adventure and we all had a great time. We look forward to going on another trip soon!
