Our Matariki whānau afternoon was a beautiful celebration of connection, culture, and community. It was heartwarming to see, throughout the week, how our tamariki were actively involved in preparing for this big day.

They created beautiful Matariki stars, kites, and Māori art, which were proudly displayed to welcome their whānau.

In the afternoon, they sang waiata for their families with joy and pride. The shared vegetable soup added to the warmth of the day — a simple yet meaningful way of coming together for kai.

Displaying our values of Manaakitanga and Whakamana, our tamariki worked together to prepare the soup and even helped set up the table, ready to serve their parents and whānau. It was beautiful to see the sense of responsibility and pride they took in looking after others.

This celebration was not just an event — it was a time to reflect on what truly matters: whanaungatanga, aroha, and being together. Matariki gave us the opportunity to honour both past and present, while strengthening the relationships with our parents and whanau of our centre. A heartfelt thank you to our parents and whānau for joining us and being a part of our Matariki celebration.

Together, we created memories that will shine as brightly as the Matariki stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
