Our Pukeko tamariki at BestStart St Andrews enjoyed unstructured play and it was such fun. Shredded paper is very tactile and provides children with a sensory learning experience that develops a range of social interactions, including co-operative and parallel play.

Beyond their five senses, body awareness and balance also needed to be developed so we spend time on the floor with our children – exploring the texture, rolling, crawling, climbing and cruising – helping them to move independently and build their sensory system.
