Upcycling at BestStart Hillcrest
Recycling and using things again is important because kids have lots of toys these days. We have a special toy, like an old electric typewriter, that lets kids learn in many different ways.
They can touch and explore every part of it, like the buttons and keys. They figure out how to put in paper and use all the different parts. But don't worry, we make sure it's safe for them to play with. We take out any wires that might be dangerous.
Kids today have access to lots of technology, so we want to make sure they learn about it in a safe way.
Using old things like this typewriter is special because it shows kids how things used to be. They can use their hands, talk, and think in different ways. They can also learn about numbers and use their imagination. Most importantly, they have a safe place to discover and have fun.
Recycling and reusing things is a big part of what we believe in here. It's something you can see all around our center. We're lucky to have families who support this idea. They understand that recycling means finding new uses for old things.
