Virtual Ecosystem Tour
Kaitiakitanga is a foundation value of BestStart Waihopai Kindy. The tamariki are encouraged to have a sense of ownership, responsibility and respect for people, places and things. We are the guardians of our learning community, creating a sustainable environment learning to care and respect things now so others will later.
In these videos Rebecca takes the tamariki on a virtual ecosystem adventure around her back yard and demonstrates how to create bird feeders and a hydration station for the creatures living in her yard. It is a great example of kaitiakitanga, recogising the change in season and environment as well as supporting the amazing creatures in nature.
