Last Wednesday we had Ally from the SPCA visit to share their Empathy programme with us. She talked about the 5 things that animals need to survive and how these are also the same for people. They were:

1) Water
2) Food
3) Shelter
4) Exercise
5) Love

Ally brought along Cupcake, a fluffy white rabbit for the children to meet. She told the children the story of how Cupcake came into the SPCA, how she raised her and when it was time for her to go to her forever home, she decided to keep her, she showed pictures of Cupcake as a tiny baby. At the end, the children all had a chance to pat Cupcake.

Ally talked about how animals have feelings just like people, using pictures to help the children see this and also told the children about some of the different animals they get in at the SPCA.

At the end the end the two of the Prep-room children presented Ally with a card and the donated money we had collected.
