Visit from Kids Bike Taupo
An important part of our philosophy at BestStart Richmond Kindy is engaging with our local community. We are passionate about finding ways in which we can bring our community into our centre and our tamariki into their community.
To help extend our tamariki’s learning, Cath from Kids Bike Taupo visits our centre to support our tamariki become confident bike riders.
To extend our tamariki’s growth and development, we cordon off a section of our car park so our tamariki have a larger space to explore and learn how to ride their bikes. Cath has a van full of balance and pedal bikes so all of our children can participate. Some of our tamariki are just starting to learn how to ride a bike but with support from Cath and their kaiako (teachers) they quickly grow their skills. Cath sets up an obstacle course for our tamariki to explore filled with ramps, cones and planks. These are set up to challenge our tamariki and help them learn to manoeuvre through them.
Our tamariki love Kids Bike Taupo’s monthly visits and are quickly becoming confident and skilled bike riders.
