From Best Start Mt Eden, all Kaiako in Paua (Over 2’s) and the head teacher from Pipi (Under 2’s) are taking part in a Visual arts course facilitated by Professional Practice Leaders, Barbara Backshall, and Anna Marshall.

Along with five other BestStart centres in Auckland, we are taking part in a mixture of webinars and in centre workshops where we are able to build on our knowledge and skills in engaging tamariki in the visual arts.

We are feeling very lucky to take part in this professional development and learning where we have already attended one amazing workshop at Best Start Mangere. There, we were able to have hands on experiences in creating visual artworks through many different mediums. We scribbled to music, we created screen prints, collage works, paintings, sketches, and pastel drawings. All the while discussing and imagining the opportunities we could provide for our tamariki.

The team in Paua are so excited to get back into our centre to provide some awesome experiences for our tamariki!
