Kia ora e te whānau, something that we are proud of here at BestStart is our excursions out into the community and one we would like to share in particular is our trip to Fendalton Library for wā kōrero.

In order to get to Fendalton Library, we go in the 'Walking bus' (Our 4 seater prams!) As we walk down to the library we play games like I spy and spot the, connecting us to our environment and community. We had so much fun as we made it to Fendalton library, we made it just in time for wā kōrero and listened to our kaiako, ready to follow instructions.

We sat, stood, danced to wiaita and listened to stories. On our way back, we stopped for a play at the big playground and hopped back on the walking bus.

Our excursions occur on a regular basis. What we can say we are learning from these sorts of excursions are; Whanaungatanga, connections to the wider community, making links to our home life through past events and finding happiness in simply getting out and about. We can't wait until next time friends!
